How do I change my DNS settings on macOS?

  1. System Preferences
  2. Network
  3. Click Advanced. 
  4. Click the DNS tab
  5. Click the little + sign at the lower left to add a new DNS server
  6. Type in the numbers of a public DNS server (see our suggestions below)
  7. Click OK
  8. Click Apply

Type in one of the following public DNS server addresses:

1.1.1.1 = CloudFlare DNS

8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 = GoogleDNS

208.67.220.220 or 208.67.222.222 = OpenDNS
